Terms & Conditions
These terms set out the basis on which Rattana provides watch repair and restoration services. By bringing a watch to our workshop or submitting an enquiry through this website, you agree to these terms.
Effective date: 15 May 2025 · Last updated: 15 May 2025
1. Definitions
In these terms:
- "We" / "Us" / "Rattana" refers to the watch repair and restoration workshop operating at 89 Thalang Road, Talat Yai, Phuket 83000, Thailand.
- "You" / "Client" refers to the individual or entity bringing a watch for service or making an enquiry.
- "Watch" refers to any timepiece left with us for assessment, service, or restoration.
- "Service" refers to any work performed by us on a watch, as agreed in writing or in person.
- "Quote" refers to the written or verbal estimate of cost and timeline provided before work begins.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By leaving a watch with us for any service, or by submitting a contact form on this website, you accept these terms. You confirm that:
- You are at least 18 years of age and have legal capacity to enter into an agreement
- You are the owner of the watch, or have authority from the owner to authorise service
- The information you provide regarding the watch and your contact details is accurate
3. Service Description
We offer three main services, details of which are published on this website:
- Light Service & Adjustment — a tune-up for watches in reasonable condition
- Movement Overhaul — full disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly for unreliable or significantly off-time movements
- Sentimental Piece Restoration — comprehensive work on watches with personal or heritage significance
The precise scope of work for any individual piece is confirmed after assessment and agreed before work commences.
4. Intake, Assessment & Quotes
- Initial assessment of a watch in person is provided at no charge and carries no commitment.
- A written or verbal quote will be provided before any service work begins. Work will not proceed without your explicit agreement to the quoted price and timeline.
- If during the course of work we discover additional issues that affect cost or timeline, we will pause and contact you before continuing.
- Quoted timelines are indicative. Work on mechanical timepieces, particularly restoration, may take longer than estimated due to parts sourcing or the condition of the movement. We will keep you informed.
- We photograph watches on intake. These images serve as a record of condition and are retained with the service file.
5. Payment
- Payment is due on collection of the watch, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
- Prices are quoted in Thai Baht (฿). Accepted payment methods include cash and bank transfer; please ask about card payment availability.
- If a watch is not collected within 60 days of notification of completion, and no alternative arrangement has been made, a storage fee may apply.
- We do not offer refunds on services already performed. If you have a concern about the quality of work, please contact us — we will discuss the situation and, where appropriate, address the issue at no additional charge.
6. Care of Watches in Our Keeping
- Watches left with us are stored securely in our workshop and handled with care appropriate to their age and condition.
- We carry professional liability for loss or damage caused by our negligence while a watch is in our possession.
- We are not liable for pre-existing conditions not mentioned in the intake assessment, nor for deterioration resulting from the age or design of the watch.
- For watches of significant monetary value, we recommend clients make their own insurance arrangements.
- Watches brought in without prior arrangement are accepted at our discretion depending on current workshop capacity.
7. Limitation of Liability
Our liability to you is limited as follows:
- In the event of negligence on our part resulting in damage to or loss of a watch, our liability is limited to the reasonable repair or replacement cost of the watch, taking its condition at intake as a reference.
- We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including loss of sentimental value beyond reasonable assessment, delays caused by third-party parts suppliers, or any claim arising from use of a serviced watch after collection.
- Watches accepted for service are handled entirely at the client's risk where the client has been advised that the work carries inherent risk given the age, rarity, or condition of the piece, and has chosen to proceed.
8. Intellectual Property
All content on this website, including text, images, and design, is the property of Rattana or its licensors. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use any part of this website for commercial purposes without our prior written consent. Photographs of your watch taken during service remain accessible to you upon request.
9. Dispute Resolution & Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Thailand. In the event of a dispute:
- We ask that you contact us directly in the first instance — most concerns can be resolved informally through a conversation.
- If informal resolution is not reached, disputes will be referred to the courts of Phuket Province, Thailand.
10. General Provisions
- Entire agreement: These terms, together with any written quote or service agreement, constitute the full agreement between us.
- Severability: If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remainder continues in full effect.
- Amendments: We may update these terms from time to time. The version in effect at the time of your service will apply.
- No waiver: Failure to enforce a term on one occasion does not waive our right to enforce it subsequently.
